Our Geotextile Weed Membrane is a double-sided geotextile fabric made of both woven and non-woven polypropylene fabric. This weed barrier fabric provides the strength of a woven fabric while also having the high water flow capability of a non-woven fabric. This product helps to block weeds and can provide a separation layer between the soil and the fabric covering materials such as mulch.

The geotextile weed membrane can be used as in landscape beds, gardens, decks, sidewalks, and patios. It has planting lines in green on one side to help align the fabric when installing it. The fabric is available is multiple roll size options.

Installation

  • 1) Prepare area by removing all weeds and plants from the desired area. For increased protection consider applying a pre-emergent herbicide prior to laying down the weed barrier fabric.
  • 2) Unroll and cut the weed barrier fabric to the appropriate length. If overlapping the fabric, allow for a 4" - 6" overlap. Cut an "X" slit in the location where each plant will be placed. Secure the fabric with fabric staples, staggering the staples at an approximate rate of 1 staple per 5 feet.
  • 3) Cover the fabric with 3-4 inches of bark, mulch or stone to protect the fabric from ultraviolet light and to give the project a finished look.
